ACOM's EZContentManager 3.1.1 Simplifies Administration, Enhances Security and Communications, Offers "Windows-like" User Interface
Long Beach, CA (PRWEB) June 26, 2007 -- ACOM Solutions, Inc. has released EZContentManager v. 3.1.1, providing extended power and flexibility for administrators, a simplified user interface, enhanced automated document management and communication, and tighter security, it was announced today by James R. Scott, senior vice president.
EZContentManager is the web-based content and document management system (http://www.acom.com/document_management/) that allows companies to centralize corporate files of any type into a single repository that is web-accessible and password-secured, with browser-driven, on-board retrieval and distribution engines providing fast and convenient searching and handling.
"EZContentManager is the ideal electronic document management solution (http://www.acom.com/document_management_solutions.html) for mid-size businesses and corporate departments because its web-based architecture makes it easy to implement, easy to use and broadly affordable," Scott said. "With this new release, we continue to stretch the parameters and provide ever-more convenience and functionality in the system."
Enhancements include improvements for security, document retention (http://www.acom.com/document_management/document_retention.html) and technology, among them:
- AES256 file encryption on files imported into EZCM: files residing on the active drive can be accessed only through EZCM - More flexible document retention capabilities: retention policy can be set at both folder and file levels - Dynamic Target Path: dynamic subfolders or targets can be created during import, based on indexed fields - Electronic file shredding, with three shred levels - Support for Java 6.0 and for Tomcat 5.5 - Support for the Firefox browser, joining Internet Explorer and Netscape. - Extended support for the HTTP/S as the default batch file transfer protocol - Database metadata/index capture through ODBC - Windows-like user interface, yielding simplified operation and user management.
Other recent upgrades within EZContentManager 3.x have included support for SQL Server 2005; enhanced document class design (users can select existing metadata from a drop-down menu when editing document classes); the ability to run Open Office as a service; incremental refinements to the Process Manager routing and approval engine, and more.
"Affordable technology to capture, consolidate and centrally manage corporate documents regardless of origin or document type offers midsize enterprises advantages that until recently were available only to large, rich organizations," Scott said. "Familiar procedures such as browser operation and standardized search techniques not only keep costs low, but also minimize training time and expense while maximizing employee acceptance and use. EZContentManager was designed to offer the most functionality and ease of use for the technology dollar."
