Windows Mobile Pocket PCs and Smartphones Now Supported by Mobile Security Software Expansion from Corsoft

San Mateo, CA (PRWEB) November 7, 2007 -- Corsoft announces expansion of its Warden mobile security (www.LockMyMobile.com) software for all devices operating on Windows Mobile 5.0 and 6.0, which include Pocket PCs and Smartphones. The company expanded their software offering in response to recent statistics revealing that almost one out of three handheld electronic devices are lost each year, and that 90 percent of mobile devices do not have enough data protection to withstand an attack by hackers.

"This translates to an unprecedented volume of confidential and proprietary data that could be exposed to security risks at the individual and corporate level," said Chirag Patel, President and CEO of Corsoft Corporation, which developed the Warden Security software. "Our Warden mobile security solution effectively reduces this risk with a software lock that protects the data stored on mobile devices from unscrupulous uses."

Warden also provides security when the device has traveled outside the network coverage area or when the phone has been turned off to protect against cases where the text message may not reach the device. Warden mobile security software is dependable yet unobtrusive and easy to manage.

Warden offers two levels of protection. The local lock, enabled while the device is in possession of its owner, provides "in case of emergency" options, including contacts, allergies, medications, and other health information, as well as an option to place an emergency 9-1-1 call. It can help the device owner survive an emergency, in case he or she is unable to communicate at that time.

Warden remote lock may be activated after the device is misplaced, to secure it completely for voice and data. Excluding a few pre-identified contacts, all incoming calls get directed to voicemail and the owner's identity is concealed. The device can present a custom message offering a reward for return, an option for the finder to call the owner to return the device, and an option for making an emergency 9-1-1 call.

Earlier versions of Warden Security software were designed for the Palm OS Platform. Today's release expands that security support to devices running Windows Mobile 5.0 or 6.0, which include Pocket PCs (www.LockMyMobile.com) like Palm Treo, HTC Touch, AT&T Mogul, etc. and Smartphones (www.LockMyMobile.com) like Motorola Q, Samsung Blackjack, T-Mobile Dash, and more.
