AMSCO Windows Unveils New SentryLock
Salt Lake City, UT (PRWEB) July 2, 2008 -- AMSCO Windows introduced the new SentryLock as part of the Artisan? vinyl window series at PCBC® 2008 June 25-27, in San Francisco.
The new SentryLock offers secure locking with easy operation in a sleek new profile that complements the unique design of the Artisan Series windows.
"Security was an important part of the design for the lock," said Kyle Hendren, product marketing manager for AMSCO. "We specifically designed peace-of-mind features into the lock and manufacturing process which resonate with homeowners."
The lock placement was a key design criterion for the Artisan Series that features the SentryLock. With the lock placed on the face of the sash, would-be intruders are not able to see if the lock is in the open position.
Another security feature is the unlocked visual indicator allowing the homeowner to know their window is unlocked from a distance -- an important benefit carried over from AMSCO's previous lock design. The red stripe indicator reveals itself when the window is in the open position. With the sash fully closed the SentryLock automatically locks and the unlocked indicator is concealed.
In addition to the visual cue, when the sash is fully closed, an audible click is heard when the locking bolts self-engage.
"Homeowners will find the SentryLock easy to open with its simple push-button design, said Steve Sullivan, director of marketing for AMSCO. "Locking the window gets even easier with its automatic locking capabilities. Simply slide the sash to automatically engage the locking bolts."
The self-locking feature is powered by magnets within the lock assembly as it aligns with the keeper in the meeting rail. The locking bolts will not extend unless the magnets are aligned, thereby preventing damage to simulated divided lite grids when opening or closing the vent.
Homeowners can have the utmost confidence knowing their windows are securely locked. SentryLock meets or exceeds all forced-entry tests with its dual locking bolts and metal hooks. SentryLock comes standard on the horizontal slider, single hung and double hung styles in the new Artisan Series vinyl windows.
